The Czech Choirs Association in co-operation with the European Choral Association – Europa Cantat (ECA-EC) is organizing from 7th till 15th July 2012 already the 31st year of this unique choral event - EuroChoir 2012. For the first time ever, an exceptional youth choir consisting of 60 young singers from all over the Europe will be established in Lomnice nad Popelkou - a picturesque town in the so called Bohemian Paradise region. The common intensive choir work during the rehearsals will be crowned by three public concerts – in Lomnice nad Popelkou, Semily and Prague.
EuroChoir was established in 1982 and since then, every year a different country organises this event in order to promote cultural variety among young singers throughout Europe. This year the repertoire covers not only the old choral music, but especially modern pieces of sacred and secular music, including several folk songs as well (for details see the repertoire section). The rehearsals will be held under the leadership of highly professional conductors Franz M. Herzog (Austria) and Jaroslav Brych (the Czech Republic). For those members of EuroChoir 2012 interested in vocal training, a highly regarded vocal coach Nadia Ladkany (the Czech Republic) will be available for individual consultation.
The EuroChoir enriches its members not only from the musical point of view, but enables provides strong friendships of singers from all over Europe. In order to encourage the interpersonal relationships within this unique ensemble, sightseeing, cultural programme and other accompanying events are to be organised.
